For Catherine Holtz, founding The Art of Alchemy was a true labor of love. Her vision? To change the way we experience travel one trip at a time. As her career took her across the world, Catherine found her in-transit experiences far from reaching their fullest potential - from ill-fitting sleep masks to the chaos of carry-ons, she felt there had to be a better way to experience the first and most important step of each journey: the act of travel itself. After all, our time spent in-transit sets the tone for our journey, and each journey holds the power to transform us at our most essential levels.
Just as ancient alchemists believed a few basic elements could turn the ordinary into the extraordinary, Catherine believes elegant and beautifully crafted accessories hold alchemical potential to elevate our travel experiences from tolerable to transformational.
Recognizing an opportunity to change her experience, Catherine set about curating a set of her own personally-approved travel items, bringing a sense of comfort and harmony back to moments spent in-transit. Inspired by her search for the perfect products, and never one to shy from the next great adventure, she recognized an opportunity to design products which combine yesteryears sensibility of luxury and refinement with today’s technology.
With a desire to transform travel for others as she had for herself, The Art of Alchemy was born. TAOA products are handcrafted with the needs and desires of the discerning traveler in mind.
